Shrink or Shrinkage in Retail is a term that refers to the loss of stock in retail, caused by errors in inventory, accounting, damage of the goods, or by theft and shoplifting.
The National Retail Federation (NRF) in America estimates that shrink reaches $94.5 billion annually, across the sectors, and attributes these losses in a large part to theft and shoplifting.
