Bayer AG is a German life-science group headquartered in Leverkusen, organised into Pharmaceuticals, Consumer Health and Crop Science divisions. It was founded in 1863 in Barmen, now part of Wuppertal, as a dyestuffs producer, and launched Aspirin in 1899. Its Consumer Health brands include Aspirin, Aleve, Berocca, Redoxon and Bepanthen. The company is listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (BAYN) and completed its acquisition of Monsanto in 2018.
