It was founded in 1914 in Philadelphia by John Brooks Goldenberg and refocused on technical running shoes in the early 2000s. The company makes running shoes, clothing and accessories for men and women under the Brooks Running brand, sold in about 60 countries. Brooks has been owned by Berkshire Hathaway since 2006 and operates as an independent subsidiary.
