It was founded in 1921 in Detroit by Edmund Copeland, was acquired by Emerson Electric in 1986 and operated as Emerson Climate Technologies, and became a stand-alone company again in 2023. Its offerings include compressor electronics, flow controls and valves, rack and case controllers and leak detection, under brands such as Dixell, Sensi, Vilter, White Rodgers and Cooper Atkins. The company has more than 18,000 employees and serves customers in over 40 countries.
