Diageo plc is a British multinational alcoholic beverage company headquartered in London. It was formed in 1997 through the merger of Guinness and Grand Metropolitan and owns more than 200 brands sold in nearly 180 countries, including Johnnie Walker, Guinness, Smirnoff, Baileys, Tanqueray, Captain Morgan and Don Julio. Its shares are listed on the London Stock Exchange (DGE), where it is a FTSE 100 constituent, and on the New York Stock Exchange as American depositary receipts (DEO). It employs around 28,000 people.
