Kohl's, Inc. is a US department store chain headquartered in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. Maxwell Kohl, who had run grocery stores since 1927, opened the first Kohl's department store in Brookfield, Wisconsin, in September 1962. The chain sells apparel, footwear, accessories, beauty products, home goods and toys in stores and online, with brands such as Nike, adidas, Under Armour, Levi's, Columbia and Skechers. It had 1,174 stores in every US state except Hawaii as of February 2024, went public in 1992 and trades on the NYSE as KSS.
