Smyths Toys Superstores

Smyths Toys Superstores is a toy retailer headquartered in Galway, Ireland, and owned by the Smyth family. The business grew from a family newsagent opened in Claremorris, County Mayo, in 1935, with its first dedicated toy shop in Galway in 1986. It opened its first UK superstores in 2001, expanded into Great Britain from 2007, and took over Toys R Us stores in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in 2018 and the French chain PicWic in 2022. It now operates more than 300 stores in several European countries and an online store.
