Supermercados Devoto

Supermercados Devoto is a Uruguayan supermarket and hypermarket chain with stores in the departments of Montevideo, Canelones and Maldonado. It began in the 1960s as a Devoto family business distributing fruit and vegetables in Montevideo, opened its first large Hiper Devoto in Punta del Este in 1990 and launched the Devoto Fresh Market concept in 2007. The chain sells groceries and household products in stores and online, including international brands such as Nescafé, Oreo and Hellmann's. Grupo Casino, owner of the Disco chain, acquired Devoto Hermanos in 2000, and Devoto is described as part of Grupo Disco.
