Swizzels Matlow Limited

Swizzels Matlow Limited is a confectionery manufacturer based in New Mills, Derbyshire. Its best-selling brands are Love Hearts, Parma Violets and Drumstick lollies, alongside Refreshers, Fizzers and Fun Gums. The business traces back to a Hackney market stall run by Maurice and Alfred Matlow in the early 1920s; a factory followed in east London in 1928, a merger with David Dee's fizzy sweet firm in 1933 and a move to Derbyshire in 1940. About a fifth of production is exported to more than 20 countries, mostly in Europe.
