Its roots go back to the Waterbury Clock Company, founded in 1854 in Waterbury, Connecticut. The company makes watches under the Timex brand, including the Ironman line launched in 1986, and has also produced licensed fashion watches for brands such as Guess and Versace. It employs about 7,000 people and sells worldwide.
