Electronic Export Information (EEI)

Electronic Export Information or EEI is the electronic export data necessary for filing export declarations in the United States. Electronic Export Information (EEI) filing is required when the value of exported goods under any individual Schedule B code exceeds $2,500 or if an export license is necessary to export particular goods.

The EEI data is the electronic equivalent of the export data formerly collected as Shipper’s Export Declaration (SED) information until 2008. After 2008 and until November 2015, EEI could be filed electronically through Automated Export System (AES), using the AESDirect website, the AESPCLink software, or other AES-compatible applications.

After 2015 all the EEI filings should be done through the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE).
