Endcap display
An endcap display sits at the end of a retail aisle. It gives selected products prominent exposure and is often used for promotions, seasonal goods or new ranges.
Endcaps are valuable because customers can see them while moving between aisles, not only while searching within a category. Retailers may use them for a single promoted product, a seasonal collection or complementary items. The display needs enough stock and clear pricing, particularly when a promotion creates faster demand than ordinary shelf sales.
For example, barbecue utensils, charcoal and sauces may share an endcap during summer. Visual merchandising determines how the products are presented, while a planogram can standardise the layout across branches. Sales from this prominent position should be assessed separately from assuming the same products would sell equally elsewhere.
