Inner pack

An inner pack is a smaller grouping of units inside an outer carton. It allows goods to be handled or distributed in smaller quantities without opening every individual item; suppliers should specify whether inner packs can be ordered separately.

Inner packs make it possible to handle a smaller group of goods without treating every unit separately. They may protect items, group variants or provide a convenient quantity for store replenishment. Ordering rules still depend on the supplier: an inner pack can be identifiable in the packaging structure without being available as a separate order unit.

For example, a master carton might contain four inner boxes with six items in each, giving 24 units in total. If the supplier allows inner-pack ordering, a buyer can order six rather than 24. Otherwise the case pack requirement remains the full outer-carton quantity.
