Price list

A price list sets out the prices a supplier charges for its products. Wholesale lists should make the currency, unit of sale, tax treatment and validity clear, because the listed price may exclude delivery or other charges.

A useful trade price list identifies each product by a consistent reference and states whether the price applies per unit, inner pack, case or pallet. It may also show quantity tiers, recommended selling prices and customer-specific rates. Different versions should have dates or validity periods so buyers do not rely on superseded figures.

For example, a line marked £24 could mean one item or a case of six, which changes the buying calculation substantially. A stock list focuses on availability, whereas a price list focuses on charges. A supplier quotation can confirm the actual price and other terms for a particular proposed order.
