Product catalogue

A product catalogue presents the goods a business offers, usually with descriptions, images and product references. Unlike a live stock list, it may include items that are not currently available, and prices may be supplied separately.

A catalogue may be printed, downloadable or maintained as an online database. It can include specifications, compatible accessories, packaging options and product variants, giving buyers a structured way to identify suitable goods. The product references should remain consistent across quotations and orders so descriptions do not become the only means of matching items.

For example, a wholesaler's catalogue might include the full range of a brand even though only some sizes are held locally. A stock list provides a more direct view of available quantities. Product information management helps maintain the descriptions and specifications used in catalogues across different channels and languages.
