Shelf-ready packaging
Shelf-ready packaging is packaging designed to move goods from delivery to display with minimal handling. A carton may open into a display tray, helping staff replenish shelves while keeping products organised and identifiable.
The package typically protects products during delivery and then opens into a tray, display box or other shelf format. Good designs make it easy to identify the contents, open the case cleanly and remove empty packaging. Dimensions should suit the shelf and allow shoppers to take products without damaging the remaining display.
For example, a carton of snacks may have a perforated top that tears away, leaving a branded tray containing the individual packs. This reduces handling compared with unpacking every unit. The master carton and case quantity still need clear identification so warehouse and store staff can check stock accurately.
