Supplier scorecard
A supplier scorecard tracks a supplier's performance against agreed measures. Common measures include delivery reliability, defect rates, responsiveness and price accuracy; the results help buyers discuss problems using consistent evidence.
A useful scorecard defines each measure, the data source and the period being assessed. It might show on-time delivery, order accuracy, rejected units, response time and invoice discrepancies. Weightings should reflect the purchase: a low price may not compensate for frequent failures on a critical production component.
For example, a buyer may record 95 on-time deliveries out of 100 due that month, while separately tracking missing quantities. A supplier could score well on timeliness but poorly on fill rate. Keeping these measures distinct gives both parties a clearer basis for investigating problems and agreeing improvements.
