World Customs Organization

World Customs Organization (WCO) is an international intergovernmental organization, which is designated by countries to deal with customs-related matters. It was founded in 1953 and is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium.

World Customs Organization’s work includes the development of international legislation and conventions regulating commodity classification, valuation, rules of origin, combating counterfeiting of goods, protecting Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), combating illegal and counterfeiting medicinal drugs, illegal weapons trading, and other wide range of international customs-related issues.

WCO maintains and updates the international Harmonized System (HS) goods nomenclature, the HS codes, and administers Agreements on Customs Valuation and Rules of Origin.
