Brooks Brothers is an American clothing company founded on 7 April 1818 in Manhattan by Henry Sands Brooks, and is the oldest American apparel brand in continuous operation. It sells suits, shirts, tailoring and accessories for men, women and children, and licenses its name for eyewear, fragrances and home textiles. The company adopted the Golden Fleece as its trademark in 1850 and introduced the button-down collar dress shirt in 1896. It is based in New York City and, as of 2025, is reported to be owned by Catalyst Brands.
