NAICS – North American Industry Classification System

North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is a classification of business entities by the type of their economic activity and is used by government agencies and businesses in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

NAICS is replacing the older Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) system, which is still used by some government agencies, such as the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
